How To Do Airbrush Makeup: Training, Techniques, Artistry And Makeup Kits

Conventional makeup techniques can leave a face looking smudged and smeared in only a few short hours. With airbrush makeup, the application process is twice as fast and the results will last anywhere between fourteen and eighteen hours.

Airbrush makeup has been used in Hollywood for a little over ten years now, and is currently the only makeup suitable for HDTV, or High Definition Television. If you have any blemishes, scars, birthmarks, acne or freckles you want covered up, airbrush makeup is a great way to go. It will not rub off or clog pores and is waterproof, hypoallergenic, alcohol free and not animal tested. Many dermatologist
recommend airbrush makeup artistry to patients with different problems.

Artist training classes can be found in every major city in the country. Be careful about who you let teach you the artistry because there are no regulations. Dinair® Institute is the original airbrush makeup service and provides artist training for regular, fantasy, hair, tan and medical makeup techniques.

Applying airbrush makeup is very simple. The artist uses his/her fingertips to control the direction of the airflow. If the air pressure feels sharp of hard at all then it is blowing too hard. Most people that wear airbrush makeup say that it feels soft and relaxing. This is the way it should be. After finding the right psi for you airbrush gun, simply glide the gun over the area you want to cover. Remember to choose shades that are very similar to the original skin color to create the most natural and even looking coverage possible. Eyeliner is applied by pulling slightly on the lid and drawing a line across once or twice. Lashes need a backdrop so that the color doesn't blend past the lashes and onto the skin. The air pressure will separate and color the lashes all at once. Lips and eyebrows require stencils for perfection, although many will opt for a stencil-free approach after mastering their artistry. If covering up dark imperfections or bruises, apply a white foundation first. In airbrush makeup, white lightens purple and black.

If you are ready for a hands-on approach, makeup kits can be purchased from many different places. Dinair® offers a personal kit with different coloring options from $350 to $440. They also sell Air Tan kits, Spa kits and Medispa kits for different makeup techniques. For more information about classes in you area or to purchase a kit, visit www.dinair.com or call 818-780-4777. Since it can be quite expensive, it is wise to visit an airbrush makeup service in your area before purchasing anything.
